Redecision Therapy, developed by Robert and Mary Goulding, combines Transactional Analysis with the techniques of Gestalt therapy to provide a powerful means of personal change. These workshops offer you an opportunity for intensive personal experience and ‘hands-on’ learning of the Redecision approach.
The Redecision Therapy Training is especially recommended for counsellors and therapists in TA training.
This workshop can be logged as 15 hours’ Advanced TA Training towards the hours totals set by EATA.
Supervision hours may also be counted according to the usual EATA rules. For qualified TA professionals, the workshop meets the requirements for Continuing Professional Development. A certificate of attendance will be provided.
The workshop will include Redecision therapy sessions led by Mil Rosseau, teaching and discussion of Redecision theory and techniques, and small-group work where members of the group have the chance to practise Redecision therapy under Mil’s supervision.
This combination of personal work, practice and teaching is the format used by the Gouldings themselves in their famous ‘marathon’ workshops. It gives you an ideal opportunity to ‘learn by doing’.
You will learn how to make contracts for Redecision work, how to make a treatment plan for Redecision, techniques of two-chair work and early-scene work, the Parent Interview, types of impasse and how to resolve them. Comprehensive handouts and reading guides will be provided.
Any counsellor or therapist can apply.

Our Core Philosophy
At The Berne Institute we recognise that people come into TA training with widely differing experiences of clinical practice, theoretical knowledge and formal academic learning, and that they differ widely also in their current personal resources and skills. Our courses therefore honour the uniqueness of each individual’s learning and experience and their different learning styles, pace and areas of competence.
The philosophy and practice of Homonomy that respects our mutuality and interconnectedness has been recently integrated into the Berne Institute philosophy. The aim is to expand the focus in our theory and practice from individual change to include a focus on the wider implications of our work on the whole community and our planet.
